Working With St Peter’s Brewery To Strengthen Their Brand
Branding and point of sale design
As part of the recent rebranding project for St Peter’s Brewery we developed a new pump clip design for their core range and seasonal beers. The design reflects the barrel shape used in their logo, and heroes the brand icon, the Raven. The new pump clips reflect the new bottle labels using a more contemporary colour pallet and fonts, with clear tasting notes for customer appeal on bar. The core range uses a gold keyline for a premium feel, where the seasonal specials use silver for unique standout and images to reflect the beer name and seasonal offering.
The new branding was launched at the high profile Craft Beer Rising event with much positive feedback, from consumers and the trade. See the full range here: ST PETER’S BRANDING & POINT OF SALE
Refreshing the brand
With the rebrand of St Peter’s Brewery it was essential not to alienate their existing, loyal customers. It was also key to drive the brand towards a new younger audience, looking for innovative great tasting beers. The St Peter’s Raven in their logo represents the protection of St Peter’s inhabitants from the onslaught of Vikings. We have heroed the Raven in the new designs to be instantly identifiable as St Peter’s. We developed a design that would be sympathetic to their unique and well-loved oval bottle, but would also work well on the vibrant new keg badges, using a more contemporary colour pallet aimed at the new customer base.

Launching new products
St Peter’s Brewery produce a range of award-winning bottled beers and cask ales in their Suffolk-based brewery.
St Peter’s asked us to help them with their latest innovation of their English Ale to be supplied in a can for the Canadian market, a departure from their traditional oval bottle. This was a strategic decision targeted at the Canadian audience that prefer their craft beer in a can, rather than a bottle.
We created the packaging design using a contemporary interpretation of the Union Flag to help reinforce the provenance of the beer, being brewed and crafted in the UK. The white can brings on-shelf presence while the St Peter’s branding is picked out in gold for a premium feel and a nod towards its heritage. We also created the on-shelf tray for ease of merchandising.
The ST PETER’S ENGLISH ALE CANS are an exciting new innovation for St Peter’s Brewery and a commercial strategy to increase sales in their new export territory.
Award-Winning Packaging Designs
St Peter’s Brewery were looking to launch a small range of niche craft beers including a Crafted Cider and Crafted Black IPA. The new label designs needed to ensure these products stood out for their unique flavours but also sat comfortably alongside their core range.
We undertook competitor research to get a real flavour of the craft beer movement and where the products would be sitting alongside the key planners in the industry. Using a letterpress style font to lend a hand-crafted feel to the label, we created a ‘craft beers and ciders’ roundel depicting the iconic St Peter’s raven, offset from the oval. Each label features an illustration to communicate the key ingredient along with the familiar starburst from the core range labels.
The designs were well received by the industry with the CRAFTED BLACK IPA winning the Beer Challenge Design & Packaging award Bronze medal.
Strengthening the brand
We’ve not only helped St Peter’s Brewery to launch new products and strengthen their core range, we’ve also worked on enhancing their brand through EXHIBITION DESIGN, BROCHURE DESIGN and POINT OF SALE.
We have supported the client in launching strategic products into key customers and markets, including the launch of their alcohol free WITHOUT® range with POINT OF SALE, BRANDED PRESS PACK, UNIQUE BACK BAR DISPLAY and ONLINE BANNERS.
We also designed an exclusive range of packaging for ST PETER’S BREWERY FRUIT BEER, created for the Morrisons Beer Festival which saw their Plum Porter named as winner of the competition. As a result of this they were awarded a national contract for the beer to be listed in 400 Morrisons stores nationwide.
Our relationship with St Peter’s Brewery has developed with a close understanding of their business and strategic commercial decisions. Not only have we supported them in the development of their brand, launching new products and marketing materials, we are on hand as an extension of their business for those little requests that they can’t handle in-house, such as packaging concepts and bottle mock-ups for tenders – often turned around in double-quick time.
