My Florida Adventure

My Florida Adventure

I have recently come back from an amazing holiday in Florida so thought I would give a quick review of my American adventure.

In the two weeks of being out there I have consumed more food and drink than imaginable, rode so many thrill-seeking rides, sunbathed in glorious sunshine, was inches away from a 12ft Alligator and even had a drink in the Three Broomsticks!

While out there I was blown away by the size of their supermarkets, Publix, Wal-mart and Target being the few we visited.  Some even containing a McDonalds along with a hairdressers and beauty salon!  The variety of product on offer was out of this world; I was pretty mesmerized by the freezer containing Ben and Jerry’s with well over 30 different flavours!  Also the sweet, sorry ‘candy’ aisle was breath taking (I have never seen so many M&M varieties!), with so much on offer how can some one choose a product.  Could it be by the packaging, loyalty to a certain brand or is it price driven?  Needless to say the packaging enticed us, how the product looked was a big factor especially when it came to pizza, could you resist pizza and cookies in the same box?

We travelled up and down two main roads the majority of the holiday and being a passenger I spent a lot of time gazing out of the window.  You are constantly bombarded with signage and advertising for gift shops, restaurants, fast food chains, tickets and attractions.  A few of which made us stop, with so many tourists it is definitely worthwhile advertising especially for the restaurants.

It is fair to say the Americans don’t do things by halves; the sheer size and choice is just amazing, if only I had more time for my beloved Ben and Jerry’s.

So much choice sounds amazing, thank goodness i don't live there, as i would be 30 stone plus. Packaging sways me , if it looks good it must taste good unfortunately this is not always true , it can be a case of what looks good can taste just plain horrible. I wouldn't mind tasting 30 flavours of Ben and Jerrys, happy days.
